As of August 24, 2020 we have closed our $0 wait list registration for the regular 2020-2021 season. CMBA has cancelled the Fall 2020 season since no public and Catholic school gyms are available until 2021, at the earliest. In the event that we are permitted to return to gyms and offer a winter season, we will contact families with updated fee information and payment instructions.
There will be approximately 11-12 weeks of training/scrimmage sessions or as the gym time dictates
U11's will be once a week during the week for 1.25 hours
U13's and U15's will be once a week for 1.5 hours with the odd extra session thrown in during weeks where we have a few more hours of gym time.
Specific training nights will be determined once cohorts and coaching are organized.

Fee Discount for Large Families
Families with 3 or more children registered in Calwest will pay full fees for 2 children and receive a 50% discount on fees for additional children. The 50% discount will be applied to the lowest-priced fee(s) among the entire family.
Please ensure you reside within the Calwest boundaries by referring to the "Boundaries" section of this website. If you do not live within these boundaries, please use CMBA's map to determine which Calgary Minor Basketball Association zone you should be registering in: http://cmba.ab.ca/content/cmba-zones . Calwest will not accept registrations from out of area players.
Financial Assistance: Calwest requires families to fully pay our registration fees up front; we will subsequently refund you the amount of any financial assistance that is awarded.
Kidsport Canada provides assistance "to overcome the financial obstacles that prevent some young people from playing sport." For more information and an application form or to see how you can make a contribution, go to http://www.kidsportcanada.ca/alberta/calgary/.
JumpStart is another charity that helps kids from financially disadvantaged families participate in organized sports and physical activity. For more information go to https://jumpstart.canadiantire.ca/ .
Refunds: Unfortunately there will be no refunds if you make one of the cohorts. This includes having to quarantine for 14 days if someone tests positive within your cohort. We have had to pay for all the expenses up front, and we are a non profit organization. In the event that the AHS suspends phase 2 return to play, we will then refund 50% of your fees if the season is not yet 50% complete.
Proof of Age and Designated Age Groups
All players new to Calwest, as well as first year U11 players must provide a copy of their birth certificate - must be uploaded during online registration. Note that proof of age is not required for Tykes.
Note that players must register in their designated age group (no "play-ups" to older age groups or "play-downs" to younger age groups). The only permissable case of "play-ups" is that of 2nd year U15 players (born 2006) who are in high school; these players may register in the High School age group (for the fall season) if they intend to try out for their high school team.
VISA and Mastercard are accepted for online registrations.
