* The Juvenile Division will have a shortened season in the fall (seeding round, 1 game per week, and playoffs) between September and mid-November in order to be finished for players to try out for their high school teams. Those who are not playing high school basketball, may play in the Winter season, which runs in January and February. They must register again in late November. We will accept registrations for the winter season from players who did not play in the fall. We encourage those who have graduated from high school to play in one of the many adult leagues throughout Calgary.
Players born between September 1 - December 31, 2000 must provide proof of full-time high school status (i.e. student timetable).
Fee Discount for Large Families
Families with 3 or more children registered in Calwest will pay full fees for 2 children and receive a 50% discount on fees for additional children. The 50% discount will be applied to the lowest-priced fees (i.e.Tyke and Juvenile) among the entire family.
A separate cheque for $100 post-dated April 1, 2019 (Dec 1, 2018 for Juvenile) for each player registered, must be brought to the first evaluation session in September. A player will not be be allowed to participate in evaluations until they have checked in and submitted their deposit cheque to the Registration Assistants at the first night of evaluations for their age category. Deposit cheques WILL NOT be accepted by the Registrar via mail. Once the uniform is returned and parent volunteer commitment is met, the cheque will be destroyed. Should the uniform not be returned or returned in unusable condition the cheque will be cashed. Deposit cheques are not required for Tykes.
Please ensure you reside within the Calwest boundaries by entering your address into Calgary Minor Basketball's zonefinder: http://cloverhitch.ca/

Late Registrations / Availability of spots
Age categories may fill up before June 30, 2018. Calwest is unable to guarantee that spots will be available until the end of June, due to gym constraints and the large number of players in the program. If an age category is full, the player will be placed on a wait list and contacted if space becomes available. Once early bird pricing ends on June 7, 2018, fees will increase per the above chart.
2018-2019 Additional Fees
We guarantee one, one-hour practice a week per team. If you make the first or second team, there will be an additional charge for extra gym time between $20-$50 per player.
Proof of Age and Designated Age Groups
All Mini, Bantam, Midget and Juvenile players (both new and returning players) must provide a copy of their birth certificate - may be uploaded during or after online registration (this is a one-time 2018 requirement). A player's registration will not be accepted or considered complete until this has been received (even if payment has been made) which, after June 30, could result in being placed on a wait list. Note that proof of age is not required for Tykes.
Note that players must register in their designated age group (no "play-ups" to older age groups or "play-downs" to younger age groups). The only permissable case of "play-ups" is that of 2nd year Midget players (born 2004) who are in high school; these players may register in the Juvenile age group if they intend to try out for their high school team.
